Square Rigger Lodge

I’ve stayed at Square Rigger Lodge a couple of times, mainly because of the location. It’s in the quieter part of DC. The staff is very friendly. Our room was beach side. There are chairs outside each room. We enjoy sitting outside enjoying the sun rise. There is a coffee shop attached, but unfortunately we have never eaten there. The only thing that would make our stay better, would be a coffee pot in the room. My husband and I are early risers and there’s no coffee place open till 7 am. But no worries it’s still a great place to stay!

We are so thrilled that we decided to stay at Square Rigger Lodge! What a beautiful and friendly place! The beach was amazing..staff- top notch..Such a great place to unwind! We loved it so much we are booked for next year! Can't wait!! Miss the sound of the waves!! **Update: Since this initial review, I've stayed a few times. It's my go to!! Door County isn't huge, so you can basically drive anywhere each day. Coming to Square Rigger is fantastic: quiet, beautiful beach, easy parking..fantastic owners. Peaceful. A definitely place to stay if you want to unwind!

Our return visit to Square Rigger Lodge did not disappoint. A quiet & very clean little motel with friendly staff once again will make us return for sure! We highly reccomend!

Very well kept and clean motel. Would highly recommend. The location is perfect along the shore of Lake Michigan.

My husband Brandon and I are heading into our 7th season at Square Rigger Lodge, and that alone says everything. We absolutely adore our cottage—it truly feels like our second home. What makes Square Rigger so special is the way you’re treated. From day one, we’ve felt less like renters and more like owners who are genuinely respected and cared for. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained, but it’s the warmth and love of the place that keeps us coming back year after year. If you’re looking for a cozy Door County escape that feels personal, welcoming, and special, Square Rigger Lodge is it. We can’t imagine lake season without it.

It was our first time in Door County and we felt so welcome. I can tell that the staff really love Door County and are always willing to give recommendations or do anything to make your stay better. We absolutely loved the beach as well. We will definitely be staying here again next time we visit!

My husband and I stayed here for four days and three nights, and we are truly grateful for such a comfortable and restful experience. When we first checked in and entered our room, we immediately noticed how clean and refreshing the air felt. (We’ve stayed at many hotels, but this was the very first time we had such a fresh and uplifting first impression.) The staff, as well as the fellow travelers staying here, were all kind and greeted each other with warm smiles. The beautiful scenery and easy access to the beach made our walks especially enjoyable. On top of that, having great restaurants and leisure activities nearby made everything so convenient. We are certain that when we visit Door County again, we will definitely choose to stay here once more.

We just returned home from our third stay. After finding this place last fall, we returned during the past summer and now took a ride to see the fall colors and relax. The owners are so welcoming and the motel is clean and comfortable. Complimentary coffee is available in the office each morning, and the coffee shop next door is an added bonus on weekends offering delicious frittatas and sweet treats. The location on the lake is perfect! A great place to relax and unwind! We will definitely be back! Thank you all for another great stay! See you next year! Joe and Judy
